Gary Allan’s “Set You Free” Album Debuts at #1 at iTunes

Multi-platinum selling artist Gary Allan’s ninth studio album “Set You Free” released to retailers and digital outlets on January 22, 2013. Gary Allan Set You Free ThumbnailAnd this morning the album catapulted to #1 on the iTunes (all genre) Album Chart giving Gary his highest debut on iTunes to date.

The album’s lead single, Every Storm (Runs Outta Rain), has sold over 700,000 downloads, been certified GOLD and is quickly approaching platinum.

Every Storm ignited a fire fueled trail up the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart. The song is showing serious promise of being Gary’s fifth #1 hit. And it was the overwhelming response to Every Storm at radio that moved the album’s release date up two months (from its original release date slated for March).

I’d say the Man of Musical Misery and Magnificence has lit a match and stoked the flames of praise. Fans are fired up, charts are soaring, critics are acclaiming and I think things are about to get hotter !

In fact, just days before the release of “Set You Free”, the Nashville Scene claimed:

when it comes to album-making as a series art form, Neil Young has nothing on Gary Allan.” The writer continued, “but there’s at least one country hit-maker who shares common ground with sources of self-expressive substance like Neil Young, and that’s Gary Allan. Both are smart, brooding, un-showy songwriter types who make clear that they’re under no one’s thumb and approach their albums as cohesive works.”

Early praise for the album is also pouring in from: NPR, USA Today, Billboard, Associated Press, Country Weekly, Boston Globe, Indianapolis Star and our very own Country Music Pride, among others. And we’ll assume this is just the beginning.

Be sure to check out Gary sharing his feelings on the new “Set You Free” album

And definitely tune in to the song that over 700,000 people have downloaded and over 2 million YouTube visitors have watched.
