Well I feel very proud and honored that the academy is acknowledging me and the Tex Ritter also…well, by the way I love him. I got to know him before he passed away but I though he was great but the fact that the Tex Ritter award goes to things like ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’ one of my favorite movies, ‘Coal Miner’s daughter’ one of my favorite movies, even the ‘Best Little Chicken House in Texas’ with me and Burt (Reynolds) year ago. This is a great honor to be able to accept something that’s so personal to me like the ‘Coat of Many Colors’ a true story from my childhood.”

The 51st Academy Of Country Music Awards, co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley, is produced for television by Dick Clark productions and will be broadcast live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Sunday, April 3rd at 8:00PM live ET|delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.
