“We’re All for the Hall” — Concert Review

Vince Gill and Keith Urban had a great idea: Get a bunch of famous country singers together, raise some money and rock the city — Music City, that is.

Gill, the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum’s board president, and Urban, a Grammy award winner, donated the night’s proceeds to benefit the Country Music Hall of Fame. The concert took place at the Sommet Center, in Nashville, on Oct. 13.

To conclude his tour in the United States, Urban’s band played for about an hour or so before Brad Paisley stormed the stage and embraced a roaring, packed crowd. Paisley and Urban sang “Start a Band,” which gave the pair a nomination for Music Video of the Year at the 43rd annual Country Music Association awards, which will air in November.

Paisley was just one of many special guests that evening: the entire bill included Jason Aldean, Faith Hill, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift and Little Big Town; each artist and group sang just two songs. Next year’s benefit concert will be held on Oct. 5, 2010.
