Tune In: Tegan Marie Joins Girls Scouts Of The USA For 92nd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Warner Music Nashville and Sweety High talent Tegan Marie as she joins Girl Souts Of The USA tomorrow morning (November 22nd) to celebrate G.I.R.L. leadership at the 92nd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

As the featured performer on the Girl Scouts’ “Building a Better World” float, Tegan Marie will showcase what it means to be a true G.I.R.L (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ and sing her heart out for this time-honored Thanksgiving Day tradition, airing nationwide on NBC at 9:00 a.m. across all time zones.

Chosen for the float as a Girl Scout role model who is breaking barriers in music, Tegan Marie is the youngest female artist in 45 years to sign with a major Country label, and a committed change-maker in her own community. In 2016 she released “Lucky Me” to benefit children affected by the water crisis in her hometown of Flint, Michigan, and has since continued to make giving back a priority through multiple charitable endeavors and awareness campaigns. She aims to do the same with her parade appearance, helping encourage girls to “build a better world” through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

I am super excited to share my voice on the Girl Scout float this Thanksgiving!” Tegan Marie says. “As a Girl Scout, it’s a dream come true to represent more than a million girls who are doing awesome things to change the world. I think all girls should be Girl Scouts so they can join me in making the world a better place.”

As the holiday season continues, Tegan Marie will finish 2018 by stepping into another role…this time as Wendy in Lythgoe Family Panto’s “Peter Pan And Tinker Bell-A Pirate’s Christmas” at Nashville’s Tennessee Performing Arts Center. Making her theatrical-stage debut December 13th – 23rd, she’ll join a cast which includes Disney Channel’s Garrett Clayton and Seinfeld’s John O’Hurley for a swashbuckling adventure performed in the high-flying style of a British holiday panto…filled with big laughs, magic, dancers and contemporary songs by everyone from Taylor Swift to the Bee Gees.

Earlier this month, The Tennessean premiered an intimate acoustic video for Tegan Marie’s empowering track “I Know How to Make a Boy Cry,” and she is currently working on new music with hitmakers Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift) and Scott Hendricks (Blake Shelton).
