Imagine yourself passionately working towards a goal for over fifty years. Think of the dedication and mastery going into perfecting a craft. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band began as a modest California jug band and half a century later, they have cemented themselves as a prominent pillar within Americana music. by Derek Payseur The Zac Brown Band’s third album, The Foundation, is an eclectic mix of songs that range from island-style country and slow-paced ballads to feel-good radio-friendly hits and finger picking southern-fried bluegrass. Contrary to the name, Country Music Pride is not just about country—we're also about bluegrass, folk, alt-country and a fair amount of classic rock—but most of all, we're about love. We built this site because we love the music and wanted to provide an online music source for a genre that didn't quite have its Pitchfork Media or Nah Right equivalent. We seek to provide engaging, fresh content daily, ranging from news and features to album reviews to in-depth interviews with some of the top performers today, from Dan Tyminski to Dolly Parton.
This is a site for the fans. We believe an online music source is nothing if the fans can't participate, so we're always trying to find new avenues for our readers to get involved. We have crowd-participation open threads on hot country topics, plenty of fun promotional contests and we encourage written contributions by dedicated country fans.
So go Country Music Pride...because if you say you like "everything, but country," we'll know you're lying.
