Steven Tyler, Rocker Gone Country, Releases New Single “Love Is Your Name”

Steven Tyler is best known as the lead man of one of the best-selling rock & roll bands in American history, and he isn’t the first rocker to give the country music scene a try. Over the last few months we have been given some sneak peeks of Tyler’s new endeavor and it has finally come to completion when he performed his debut country single “Love Is Your Name” recently on American Idol, which could cause fans to be cautious…and it’s totally understandable.

Tyler previously discussed his love of country music during a Q&A with Twitter last year, saying: “I’m going down to Nashville in January, February, March, April to write and see what we get. Doing an album is like panning for gold. You get so much sand and dirt until you find a little nugget – and you work on the nugget.”

Tyler has been living in Nashville since the beginning of the year, doing some work with some of the city’s songwriters to put together his debut solo album, a country record, produced by Dann Huff and other Music Row luminaries. “I picked up and headed for Tennessee, and the first day in the studio, I recorded a song that became my first single,” Tyler says in a press release announcing the track. “And if ‘Love Is Your Name,’ then Nashville’s my new girlfriend. I guess you could call that beginner’s luck.”

All in all, the song is mellower than what some may have been expecting from the rocker. Eric Paslay who helped write it, is not your typical country bad boy, so the cowed pace and concept should have been expected. Tyler makes it his own by filling space early and often in true Steven Tyler fashion.

‘Love Is Your Name’ is available now on iTunes. Be sure to download your copy today!

There’s no release date or title set for the LP, which Tyler has been promising for awhile now, yet. But the album is expected to arrive sometime in 2015!
