Miranda Lambert Isn’t Hiding Her “Scars” Anymore

Last night (January 20) during an unplugged show at Nashville’s City Winery, Miranda Lambert performed with an all star guest list, consisting of nearly a dozen artists joining her throughout the evening playing hits, covers and one new, tug at your heartstrings, unreleased song.

Miranda’s bestie, Ashley Monroe, the quickly rising Maren Morris, and Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley and hit songwriter Shane McAnally were those among the musicians who spent time onstage. Lambert also highlighted a member of her own team, bandmate, Scotty Wray. Wray has been playing guitar and co-writing songs with the “Platinum” singer since her 2005 debut, “Kerosene.”

“Scars” is the title of the new song Lambert performed for the sold out crowd, written by Scotty 16 years ago, the year Lambert met him. She stated that she has been in love with the song ever since.

I was never damaged enough to sing a song called ‘Scars,'” Lambert added, explaining why she had never before performed the song. “It’s something you have to sell and really feel…and go through shit, basically…to execute.”

Proceeds from Lambert’s City Winery show will go to the Women’s Creators Fund and help provide money to a female attending Belmont University in Nashville, majoring in songwriting, entertainment studies or music business. The first scholarship will affect the 2016-17 school year.
