The Cains Knock KnockThe five-track EP is available on iTunes, Amazon and other major digital retailers.

“Knock Knock’ is the only song on the EP that we didn’t write, but as soon as we heard it, we knew we needed to record it. We heard it once and couldn’t stop singing it. We hope the song will have the same effect on our listeners” Madison Cain commented about the single.

The two sisters and brother from Hartselle, Alabama have shared a lot over the years, but their passion for music is what has brought them together as The Cains, a Country band with unique harmonies and a variety of influences. Taylor, Madison and Logan Cain are not only singers and songwriters, but also multifaceted entertainers and musicians who play guitar, piano, bass, harmonica, mandolin, drums and more.

We recently had the opportunity to catch up with The Cains and wanted to share with fans the very reason we love The Cains, their music and all that they stand for.

Country Music Pride: What do you enjoy most about being able to work together as siblings?

The Cains: Before we decided to pursue music full time, we already promised each other that we’d never split up. We have always lived together, both growing up and through college, and we share an apartment now. Even when we grow up and have our own families, we wanted to build three houses next to each other. So working together just makes the dream possible!

Country Music Pride: What do you do to keep a happy balance between work and your personal lives?

The Cains: We watch a lot of movies. At night, we’ll get a bunch of movie snacks and completely unwind. It’s hard because when you don’t have “business hours,” you have to be self-motivated, but also know when to turn it off. We also like to go home to our hometown and see our parents. When we are home, we just get to be kids and “let our hair down.”

Country Music Pride: Your debut single “Journey’s End” and video were released this summer along with your self titled EP, what do you hope your fans get from your music?

The Cains: Our new EP is us! The songs, the production, the artwork was all chosen by us. So we hope our fans feel like they can get to know us through our music.

Country Music Pride: What is your favorite song on the EP?

The Cains:
Logan – I remember the night I heard “Knock Knock” for the first time. We had just gotten the first mix of it from our producer, Dan Agee, and he absolutely nailed it. The song came to life for me that night!

Madison – “Miss Red, White, And Blue.” The three of us sat around the living room and daydreamed about being rebels. The song really fell together.

Country Music Pride: Who are your musical icons?

The Cains: The Civil Wars, NeedtoBreathe, John Mayer, Kasey Musgraves, The Foo Fighters.

Country Music Pride: If you could do a duet with anyone, who would it be?

The Cains:
Madison – Zooey Deschanel– it would be so fun!

Logan – I feel like I would want to do a crossover with someone like Chris Brown or John Legend just so I could stand there and watch them kill it.

Country Music Pride: What has been the highlight of your career so far, your most memorable moment?

The Cains: This was not a highlight, but it has been the most memorable. Taylor got very sick just around Thanksgiving. Doctors believed she had permanent kidney failure from a missions trip to Honduras. We almost cancelled all of our 2016 shows. Taylor would have been on dialysis for the rest of her life. They recently released her from the hospital after 10 days, saying that she will fully recover. We give all glory to God. But through this, our hopes and goals for our music changed. Every show we get to do together is one that we weren’t promised.

Country Music Pride: What do you hope your fans get out of your music?

The Cains: Our hope is that people can hear the hope that we have. We want people to hear through the music and lyrics to feel our hearts. We love doing this and are eternally grateful to everyone who has given us a chance so far!

Country Music Pride: What was your greatest performance to date – and why?

The Cains: One night in Rock Falls, IL – everything just came together. It really was our best onstage performance ever. It was just a night when people were willing to let us be silly and connect. We’re just goofy kids hoping people open their hearts to us and if we get that response, we come alive.

Country Music Pride: What was the first venue you ever performed at?

The Cains: A Blue Coast Burrito– things have really moved on up for us!

Country Music Pride: Any plans for a tour in 2016?

The Cains: We are filling in our schedule now. More details soon!

Country Music Pride: What is something fun your fans may not know about you guys or you would like them to know about you?

The Cains:
Logan – I want people to watch the American version of “The Office.” If people watch that show, they will know everything about my sense of humor and will also change their own lives for the better. Seriously people, watch it.

Madison & Taylor – We know all the songs in the movie “White Christmas.” Taylor and I [Madison] learned the dance and used to perform the “Sisters” song.
