This past Thursday night was one to remember for some of Country Music Mega Star Garth Brooks’ lucky fans as well as for Garth himself.

For the first time in his nearly 30 year career he played a full concert at The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.  Previously he had only made an appearance on stage at The Mother Church for the Grammy Salute to Country Music in 2010 with Loretta Lynn, performing her 1971 hit “After the Fire Is Gone”.  A humble Garth admitted the reason it took so long was simple, he was “scared to death” to play such sacred ground.

On September 8th, Garth started his 110 minute set with an acoustic and acapella mixed medley of country classics before officially opening with Keith Whitley’s hit “Don’t Close Your Eyes”.  He then ran through the list of his own classics which sky rocketed his success, that even non country music fans know word for word; these hits having made him the best selling solo album artist in the United States.  Wife and Country Music Powerhouse Trisha Yearwood joined him on stage for 3 duets including a song titled “Whiskey to Wine” to be released on Garth’s upcoming album; which presently has no official release date.

After closing out the show with “The Dance” Brooks re-appeared for a 6 song encore ending with “Standing Outside the Fire”…

Garth’s performance at The Ryman celebrates another accomplishment to add to the Grand Ole Opry member’s impressive list.  The Ryman concert marked the launch of The Garth Channel on SiriusXM Radio.  Admission to the invitation-only show was free to 2,300 lucky SiriusXM subscribers.  Guests could enter online or by phone but had to have an account prior to July 11th to be eligible to win tickets.  However the show was aired lived on channel 55 as well as on the SiriusXM app and siriusxm.com for those who weren’t fortunate enough to attend the show live.

Garth, who recently jumped back into touring after years of retirement to focus on raising his girls, picked up effortlessly where he left off; selling out arenas in the cities where he stops for days on his current tour, simply titled “The Garth Brooks World Tour”.

Returning to the stage with the same enthusiasm he showed the world years ago it’s no surprise Garth’s name is once again on the ballot for 2016 CMA Entertainer of the Year.

Find out more about Garth’s tour on his website garthbrooks.com and check out his new satellite radio channel on SiriusXM channel 55.  You can also keep up to date with him on his Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts where he is very interactive with his fans.
