Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are getting a divorce. After just four years of marriage, the couple has announced they are splitting up and have already begun separating assets.
TMZ has reported that Shelton filed “a while ago” and a judge will end their marriage on Monday. Taste of Country has confirmed with Shelton’s representatives.
“This is not the future we envisioned,” their representatives tell Us Weekly in a statement. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”
The website states that Shelton will get their ranch in Oklahoma while Lambert will get the family home in Nashville. They have been married since 2011, but their love connection began in 2005, while Shelton was still married to his first wife, Kaynette Williams. They divorced in 2006, and after five years of dating Shelton married Lambert at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas.
Blake and Miranda have been surrounded by rumors of divorce over the years but the news still comes as a shock to fans. There have been no signs of trouble that the couple hasn’t avoided since they first started dating. They have no kids, but had talked about possibly starting a family one day. This is Shelton’s second marriage and the first for Lambert.
TMZ also stated that Shelton and Lambert had a pre-nuptial agreement in place before getting married, so the financial arrangements have already been settled. She will not perform live again until August 7th at WE Fest. Shelton’s next show will be Friday night in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
