Breaking News: Dierks Bentley Assembles “2018 Mountain High Tour”

After revealing details behind his ninth studio album “The Mountain” (Capitol Records Nashville) and releasing the lead single “Woman, Amen” last week, award-winning entertainer Dierks Bentley announced today that his “2018 Mountain High Tour”, sponsored by Twisted Tea, will kick off on May 17th in Columbia, MD with special guests Brothers Osborne and LANCO. Bentley is “notorious for his spectacular, high-energy live performances loaded with lots of fan interaction,” (Creative Loafing) and more than 40 cities will experience it in 2018.

I needed the time off to devote all my attention to the new music and making “The Mountain” album…but now I can’t wait to fire up the buses and get back out there,” said Dierks Bentley. “I’ve been friends with TJ and John for a long time and I have loved watching their career explode. I’m just getting to know the boys in LANCO, but I love their music and the energy they bring to the stage. And after seeing them and the Bros party down at the grand opening of my new bar on Lower Broadway last week, I can tell you it’s gonna be game on this summer!”

On Friday, January 26th, the first tickets to select cities will be available as part of Live Nation’s Country Megaticket at www.Megaticket.com. Live Nation is the national tour promoter. Citi® is the official credit card of the “2018 Mountain High Tour”. Citi® cardmembers will have access to presale tickets through Citi® Private Pass, Citi’s Entertainment Access Program.

Bentley found himself instantly intrigued with the song idea of his new single “Woman Amen,” during a co-write with songwriters Josh Kear and Ross Copperman. The result is one of Bentley’s most personal songs that also taps into a universal feeling of love and gratitude for those who walk through life beside us. There was also something entirely captivating about performing this past summer at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

Surrounded by his musical heroes, deep in the box canyon of the Colorado mountain town, the course was set for the creative process of Bentley’s ninth studio album, “The Mountain” which will be released in early 2018. New music quickly follows as its debut single “Woman Amen” gives a taste of the record’s “themes of questing and self-actualization across a wide-open terrain of arid deserts and rugged ridgelines, cactus flowers and tumbleweeds,” (NPR).

The writing process came together quickly when Bentley returned to Telluride a short time later for a retreat with fellow Nashville songwriters. Guitars, banjos, mandolins, and fiddles are given room to shine, and integrated into modern drum and bass sounds that will fuel the arenas and amphitheaters of Bentley’s 2018 tour. While earning 17 career No. Ones, he has garnered nominations from the ACM, CMA, GRAMMY and Billboard Music Awards, he also served as a Grand Ole Opry member for over a decade.

With a love of unpredictable moments on and off stage, Bentley’s “2018 Mountain High Tour” is already setting itself up as hard to beat. Recently, Bentley, Brothers Osborne and LANCO started prepping for the road ahead with a wild trip up “The Mountain,” and shared the video exclusively with Entertainment Weekly today.
