In the true spirit of the cowboy, “pioneering independent” (Cowboys & Indians) Aaron Watson is wrapping 2017 with a Top 10 on the national radio charts as his self-penned “Outta Style” hits No. 10 BB/No. 8 MB.
At 50 weeks, “Outta Style” marks the longest trek to the coveted spot in the history of Billboard’s Country Airplay Chart. The Texas troubadour ended his banner year with his album Vaquero earning one of the 10 biggest album debuts of the year in country music and a number of “Best Album of 2017” nods, including Whiskey Riff and the No. 1 spot on Taste of Country’s year end list, proclaiming the project “a rich collection of cowboy poetry.”
The vaqueros didn’t set out to become any kind of icons…the vaquero was a laborer…owned their horses, saddles, and ropes and what they did with them would shape the history of Texas ranching.” – The Story of Texas.
An epic year on the road which included headlining shows for 50,000 plus at RodeoHouston and a historic “Night of Texas Music” at the Ryman, Watson will end 2017 with three sold-out nights at the Lone Star State’s oldest dancehall, Gruene Hall, December 21st through 23rd. He continues his tour in support of “Vaquero” with a slew of 2018 dates, highlighted by a hometown arena show in Abilene on January 26th, a Texas Independence Day show in New York City on March 2nd and Stagecoach in Indio April 29th.
Country music fans can catch the long-awaited music video for Aaron Watson’s hit, “Outta Style,” on CMT, GAC, and The Country Network. The energetic live show clip was filmed via a ten-camera shoot during Watson’s historic, headlining show at the RodeoHouston earlier this year. The Houston Press proclaimed they had never seen “a performer at RodeoHouston more in tune with the audience in the stands”, praising the headliner’s “modern-throwback aesthetic” and “supercharged Texas swing.” The heart of the show, captured by director, Ben Ranzinger, is clear in the clip, which premiered online via Cowboys & Indians.
