Scotty McCreery’s Debut is #1 on iTunes

Newly crowned American Idol Scotty McCreery is heating up the charts with his debut single I Love You This Big. The single hit airwaves on May 24th, debuting at No. 32 on Billboard (the highest charting Hot Country Songs single debut for a new artist in Billboard history!). The impressive debut on Billboard lead into this week’s debut on iTunes, where Scotty’s single debuted at number one. The young country singer has a strong fan base who are eager to purchase his music.

Scotty said he feels overwhlemed by the single’s sucess. He told reporters, “I am humbled and shocked by this news. I can’t tell you what it means to me to be on the same charts as my musical heroes. I want to thank my fans and especially country radio for their support.”

Scotty will be appearing alongside Lauren Alaina at the CMT Music Awards on June 8th, and both will have multiple appearances through CMA Music Festival.

Following up next week’s festivities, fans can look forward to Scotty’s forthcoming album which he will start working on in Nashville soon.
