Miranda Lambert Honors Loretta Lynn With “Rated X” Performance

Last night marked the 9th annual ACM Honors, hosted by Jake Owen, and was without a doubt an evening no one will forget. The night was full of incredible tribute performances, awards, and fun, fun, fun!

Miranda Lambert had the honor of presenting the Crystal Milestone Award to Loretta Lynn, one of her inspirations. And along with her presentation of the award came a feisty performance in true Miranda fashion of Lynn’s “Rated X”.

Lynn remains one of country music’s icons and most beloved artist…and she as the honors and awards collection to prove it. She has paved the way for women in country music to remain strong and has given women the empowerment to go after their dreams in the country music industry.

Later this year, she is expected to release new music, which we are all waiting patiently for! She marks the first woman to ever win Entertainer of the Year back in 1975 at the ACM Awards, and in 1988 was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

Lambert finished up her performance by thanking her friend for “being so brave” and paving the way for women empowerment.

Thank you, Miss Loretta, for that song, and being so brave, and paving the way for me to stand up here and sing a song like that. She sang songs that were not necessarily appropriate at times, like this for me,” Lambert quipped in an oblique reference to her own recent divorce (quote via The Boot). “I’m glad to be here singing for my friend.”
