2015 is turning out to be a great year for Jana Kramer. She married NFL tight-end Michael Caussin in May, her hit single “I Got the Boy” is quickly climbing the country charts, and now, Kramer has more happy news: her and Caussin are expecting their first child early next year!
Being a mom will be the greatest job I’ll ever have,” the actress-turned-country star says. “I feel like the luckiest girl alive to be on this journey with the love of my life.” Caussin added, “I am so incredibly excited about becoming a father. For me it is just another dream come true and I cannot imagine tackling parenthood with anyone else but Jana.”
The lovers, who got engaged in December after a brief romance, married in Caussin’s hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia, Memorial Day weekend. “Every day is a honeymoon with him,” the One Tree Hill alum told PEOPLE at the Country Music Awards in June. “He is my best friend.” This will be the first child for both the 31-year-old Kramer and 28-year-old Caussin.
We are beyond thrilled to be entering the path of parenthood together,” the couple tells PEOPLE. “Words cannot describe how happy and blessed we feel to become parents.”
Neither Kramer nor Caussin have commented on social media. Kramer’s next performance is scheduled for Tuesday night (August 11th) in Murphys, California. Her schedule is still packed through the fall, with shows planned through at least early October.
“I Got the Boy” is the latest single from her still untitled second album on Warner Music Nashville. She previously scored a Top 5 hit with “Why Ya Wanna” and has notched three other Top 40 hits.
