Darius Rucker welcomes all Hootie fans

When Country Music Pride asked Darius Rucker how he felt about Hootie & The Blowfish fans coming out to see him play country, he said, “I love it — I embrace it! I’m proud of the Hootie & The Blowfish songs that we do. I just want you to come see me because of the music.” Rucker, who is up for a Country Music Television award for Male Video of the Year for his hit song “Alright,” said, “We can talk about people coming to see me because of Hootie, but some people don’t know about my Hootie days. I was playing in Houston recently, and a couple of 13 year olds were singing every song off the new record. When I played “Let Her Cry,” they had no idea what that was. That’s hilarious, and that’s music.”
