The Soggy Bottom Boys—the rollicking old-time string band featured on the silver screen and known for the Grammy winning “Man Of Constant Sorrow” — has reunited for a special performance Saturday, March 22, at the Ole Smoky® Tennessee Moonshine Distillery (also known as The Holler™) located at 903 Parkway in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It is a free show that starts at 5:00PM.
This performance marks the first time The Soggy Bottom Boys will appear as a stage band. Led by Dan Tyminski of Alison Krauss’s award-winning Union Station band, the group includes Barry Bales, Block, Stuart Duncan and Mike Compton. Bales and Block are also members of Union Station. Duncan and Compton have played on hundreds of records and dozens of hits. For years, Duncan was a member of the widely acclaimed Nashville Bluegrass Band. Compton was featured in the house band on the fabled “Down From The Mountain Tour.” In total, these five musicians have won 47 Grammys. The concert will kick off Ole Smokey Moonshine’s 2014 concert series. “We are thrilled to bring an influential group like The Soggy Bottom Boys into The Holler to kick off our 2014 musical programming,” said Ole Smoky Moonshine founder Joe Baker. “Music and moonshine go hand in hand, as they bring folks together, and we are so looking forward to entertaining our guests with The Soggy Bottom Boys great sounds.”
