The Henningsens’ “Our Family Christmas” Is Like Combining “O Brother” and U2…

With Thanksgiving behind us and the Christmas season in full swing, let’s just jump right in with family trio The Henningsens. The trio consists of father Brian, son Aaron, daughter Clara—and their newly released collection ‘Our Family Christmas’. The digital-only release (which is available now) combines classics like “White Christmas” and “O Holy Night” with originals like “Christmas Kissin’,” featuring Jerrod Niemann.

“We went into it with a couple friends of ours who are writers and producers, great artists themselves—Spencer and Preston Dalton,” Brian explains. “We’d never done any project with them, we’d only written with them and they just blew the doors off this. It is so cool that, I’m not kidding you, I will want to listen to it the rest of the year.” “I mean, we are a little biased, but at the same time it is really cool,” Clara adds.

‘Our Family Christmas’ takes the trio’s harmonizing talents and puts them into a more rootsy, acoustic bluegrass collaboration, something that Aaron calls “a cross between O Brother, Where Art Thou? and a U2 album.” So if you’re looking for something new to add to your Christmas collection this year, I highly suggest The Henningsens’ new album!
