The Fairground Saints “Can’t Control The Weather” And Are Taking Country Music By Storm

Earlier this year, The Fairground Saints released their self titled debut album and continue to take country music by storm. The Los Angeles based trio which consists of Mason Van Valin (vocals and guitar), Elijah Edwards (vocals, guitar, mandolin, keyboards, Dobro, accordion) and Megan McAllister (vocals, guitar, dulcimer) happened to meet by chance…and we’re glad their paths crossed!

We gelled quickly and started making music together right away,” says McAllister, “it was almost like we were already family.” The trio began getting songs together for their debut album and in 2014 landed a deal with The Verve Music Group/Universal Records to release it.

The album which was produced by Matthew Wilder…is available for purchase on iTunes HERE.

The Fairground Saints played a series of shows at HOTEL CAFE kicking off December performing songs from their critically praised self titled debut on Verve Records.

You can get a glimpse of their live show with their wonderful video for “Can’t Control the Weather” which Paste called “a joyful mix of bluegrass twang, country harmonies and pop hooks.”

FS“This early in their career, Fairground Saints could lean into their bluegrass twang and end up a poppier Nickel Creek, or they could land fully in those radio-friendly vocals and Top 40 choruses and rival Lady Antebellum…”—NPR Music’s “All Songs Considered”

“One thing’s for sure—starting Aug. 21, count on them to deliver plenty of winning numbers.”—Huffington Post

“…great new folks I discovered this week: Fairground Saints…”—Daytrotter on Paste

“Finger-picking adult contemporary, perfect for the stripped-down Hotel Café environs…”—Los Angeles Magazine

We couldn’t agree more, the Fairground Saints are proving that they are the ones to watch. They have already received rave review from critics across the board. The trio from Southern California, with their sound all their own, wraps a little bluegrass, pop and folk music all into one. The outcome being a force to be reckoned with…be sure to keep your eyes and ears out for these guys! They are going places…
