Reba McEntire invites Blake Shelton to co-host ACMs

Reba McEntire has invited Blake Shelton to co-host the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards.

The pair will front the event together live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, on April 3. It will mark Shelton’s debut as an awards show host.

In a statement, Shelton said that he was “humbled” to have been invited, calling it an “incredibly special moment.”

“[Reba] is not only a mentor to me, but a true friend,” he said. “You will definitely have to tune-in and check it out. With the two of us together on live TV, you never know what we might say.”

The show’s executive producer, Orly Adelson, added that Shelton has an “outstanding stage presence,” and will be a “great fit” with McEntire. “They did a terrific job last year during our nominations, and it’s a natural progression for them to host the upcoming 46th Annual ACM Awards.”

The show airs Sunday, April 3 from 8pm ET/PT on CBS.
