Martina McBride: New Year, New Record Deal

Now that the busyness of the holidays are over, Martina McBride recently revealed exclusively on the Today Show that she has a new record deal. She will now be working with Nash Icon Music…a joint endeavor between the Big Machine Label Group (BMLG) and Cumulous, making her the first on the label. Together the two will produce new music as well as live events from some of the most successful artists from Nashville over the past 30 years.

“I am beyond thrilled by this opportunity to create new music for my fans. This format is breaking new ground and I’m proud to be a part of it. Jim and Scott have creative and fresh ideas and I think it’s going to be a blast!” Martina recently stated.

Making history with her newest album release, Everlasting, she became the first solo female artist to debut in the #1 spot on the Top Country Albums chart with an independently released and distributed album in the 50 year history of the chart. And that’s not it, the project also marks her 5th chart topping debut of her career. It is a well known fact that Martina got her start selling t-shirts on Garth Brooks tour, but she can now be proud her small beginnings as she has sold over 18 million albums, 20 Top 10 singles, six #1 hits and more than 15 major music awards!

She may be petite, but she’s a powerhouse to be reckoned with. Her Everlasting Tour has had tremendous response with sold-out shows across the country. Rolling Stone Country recently praised her stating, “It’s familiar music coming from one of the most recognizable voices of any genre, yet with a stage plot unlike anything in McBride’s illustrious 22-year career.” Anyone who has had the privilege of seeing Martina in concert would pay her the same compliment.

Not only does Martina bring entertainment to the stage, she has brought entertainment to the home. She has released her first book, Around The Table, a full-color illustrated collection of her favorite recipes, hosting tips, practical menu planning advice, and themed décor inspiration.

We can also expect new music from her later this year as she joins inaugural artist, Reba McEntire, on the new label’s roster.  “Martina remains one of the most powerful and iconic voices Country music has ever known. We are incredibly proud to have her as a part of our family as she brings new and exciting music to her millions of fans,” said Nash Icon Music General Manager Jim Weatherson.
