Signings And Free Performances Scheduled At Hastings Stores Throughout Texas And Oklahoma
Singer/songwriter/guitarist JOHNNY COOPER will celebrate the August 11 release of his third album FOLLOW (Tenacity Records)–an evocative blend of soul, blues, rock and pop that’s exemplified by the first single “Bring Me Down”–by spending time with the fans who have supported his ascent as a recording artist (his last album Ignition sold over 25,000 copies) and powerful live performer.
COOPER has just announced a string of in-store appearances at various Hastings store locations throughout Texas and Oklahoma. “I am really excited about getting to meet my fans at these appearances in the Hastings stores,” says the 20-year-old artist. “Hastings has always been my home-town music store. As a kid growing up in Wichita Falls, TX, I would have never guessed that one of my own CDs would be right there on the shelf. The people at Hastings gave me that chance…Thank You!”
The first 100 people to purchase COOPER’s new album–produced by Glenn Rosenstein and Dexter Green–at the in-store events will be invited to attend a free show that evening, getting the opportunity to be some of the first to hear the new material live. (Note: For Abilene and Waco the performances will take place at the Hastings store locations). For those underage or unable to attend the full-length shows, they’ll receive a personalized photo. At age 20, COOPER has performed as a professional musician for five years. Throughout his career he has garnered a large following in his home state of Texas and neighboring Oklahoma. His first album, LIVE AT THE PUB, was voted “Best Live CD in 2006” and Texas Entertainer of the Year (2006 & 2007) in the Payne County Line Oklahoma Music Awards; 2007’s IGNITION resulted in four songs (“Texas To You,” “Let It Ago,” “Devil Woman” and “Nothing At All”) climbing the Texas Music Charts.
With FOLLOW, COOPER is asking his fans to “follow” him to the next phase of his life, both personal and professional. Every song on the album is candid, expressing all that he has encountered along his journey and taking COOPER to the next level.
