James Barker Band Nominated For Five Canadian Country Music Association Awards

Canada’s own James Barker Band is tied for the most nominations at the 2017 Canadian Country Music Association Awards and they couldn’t be more deserving.

The five nominations include Single of the Year for “Lawn Chair Lazy,” Album of the Year for Game On, Rising Star Award, Video of the Year for “Chills” and Group or Duo of the Year. James Barker was also nominated with Gavin Slate, Travis Wood and Donovan Woods for Songwriters of the Year for the band’s current single, “Chills.” The CCMA Awards will air in Canada on Sunday, September 10th.

This is just the latest in a growing list of accomplishments for the band. James Barker Band became the first Canadian band to have a No. 1 from their debut album when “Chills” reached the top spot on Canadian country radio. Their previous two singles “Lawn Chair Lazy” and “Just Saying” both made it into the top 10.

The band, comprised of James Barker, Taylor Abram, Connor Stephen and, Bobby Martin, James Barker Band has been showcasing their music throughout a countrywide Canadian tour.
