Inaugural American Country Countdown Awards Celebrates 2014

There can never be too many award shows honoring country music in my opinion…what better reason to get all of country’s megastars to come together to celebrate what an amazing year it has been for country music. The first ever American Country Countdown Awards will take place Monday night live from Nashville’s Music City Center on Fox. In the line-up of country music awards shows, what will make this one stand out amongst the others???

Executive Producer Mark Bracco recently told Billboard, “We view the show as country music’s Christmas office party, it’s the end of the year, and it’s been an amazing one in the format. Everyone is coming together in Nashville and will celebrate what a great year it has been, give each other a high-five, thank the fans and have some great performances. It’s going to be an end-of-the-year party for country music.” It will no doubt be a country awards show that will look and feel like no other. It’s going to have a party vibe, but it’s going to be a classy party in true country fashion.

The difference between the ACC Awards and some of the other country award shows is the how the awards are determined and given out. The winners will all be determined strictly based on the numbers from album sales, radio airplay to touring data. One category will be fan-voted for the award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. However the finalist will all be determined by the numbers. And the numbers don’t lie…

What can we expect from the evening? I’m going to guess there will be some pretty exiting performances during the show…and with Florida Georgia Line hosting, how can the night be anything by entertaining? Carrie Underwood will open the show with a spectacular performance. Bracco stated, “Her performance is going to be something that celebrates her 10 years and is very amazing. To think that her career started on American Idol, and now, she’s coming home to Fox to celebrate her 10 years in country music.” Kenny Chesney will also receive the first ever Groundbreaker Award, presented by Vince Vaughn, to honor him for all his has done as one of country music’s top artists over the past 25 years.

We can also expect appearances and performances from Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, and Kix Brooks to name a few. Needless to say this will be one country awards show you will not want to miss. The American Country Countdown Awards airs Monday on Fox at 8 p.m. ET.
