Emily Hackett Debuts New Single “Good Intentions” At CMA Fest

Emily Hackett debuted her brand new single “Good Intentions” at CMA Fest’s Radio Disney Country Stage this past weekend. After opening the set with the witty single, Emily treated the crowd at Fan Fair X with two unreleased tracks – “Josie”, and the stringed quartet backed ballad “Once In A While“. She closed the show with the fan-favorite reprise version of “Nostalgia“.

Additionally, Emily performed the single at AJ’s Good Time bar on Saturday, alongside fellow songwriters Ben Danaher, Hailey Whitters and Jon Byrd.

“Good Intentions”, officially released Friday June 8th, received praise from Paste Magazine“‘Good Intentions’ balances the desire to follow through on personal goals while honestly divulging how often these goals become neglected.”

This song is unique for me because it’s not just my story,” Emily expressed in a recent interview with Paste. “I pulled real-life snippets from a bunch of my friends. One used to get their car towed from the bar all the time, one kept swearing off boys but still flirting her way through life, one has definitely had some serious retail therapy. It’s a little bit of everyone because that’s the idea – we all have good intentions.”

Stream/download “Good Intentions” everywhere by clicking here, or in the Radio Disney App.

Emily’s previous single “Nostalgia” was a fan favorite. The track’s official video earned Emily a spot on CMT’s Artist Discovery Program, where it received 6+ weeks of airplay on CMT Music…the video even made it on the fan-voted CMT’s 12 Pack Countdown, peaking at #7.

The result of Emily’s insatiable passion is undeniable. In 2013, Emily released an acoustic cover with Megan Davies of Lorde’s hit “Royals.” The response has brought in over half-a-million views on  Youtube, was featured on Buzzfeed, won “Best Coffeehouse Cover of 2013” on Sirius XM and reached the final round of “Best Royals Covers” on Ryan Seacrest. In 2014 Emily won the national Belk’s Modern Southern Music Showcase where she played tour dates with artists like Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Rascal Flatts.

In the same line, her duet with Parachute frontman Will Anderson, “Take My Hand (The Wedding Song)” reached over 50k streams on Soundcloud in less than two months and peaked at the No. 4 spot on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart. The music video for the single currently sits at over 21 million views. Emily’s latest single “Nostalgia” earned her a spot on CMT’s Artist Discovery Program, and she’s currently one of The Boot’s Artists to Watch in 2018.

There’s a compatibility between the novelty and depth found in Emily’s artistry. Her music has the power to transform listeners in a direction where many songwriters fear to tread. With her organic honesty and raw-honey vocals, it’s no wonder that the possibilities continue to unfurl for Emily Hackett.
