Carrie Underwood Blows Us Away

No. 1 for 6 weeks in a row on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart, 2012 CMA Female Vocalist Nominee, earning her 16th Top 10 Single … is there anything this artist can’t do? Carrie Underwood is more than just a Superstar, she has created an entire atmosphere of music excellence. Underwood has not only established herself as a singing phenomenon, she has also set herself apart from many artists by earning nomination after nomination for major awards in the country music game. Carrie’s second single and title track “Blown Away” entered into a league of it’s own by cementing a spot on Billboard’s Top 10 and earning record status among female artists in the tally’s 68-year-old history. Earlier this month she kicked off her third headline arena tour, “The Blown Away Tour” in New Hampshire, and fans all across North America scrambled to buy tickets to catch a show in their nearest city.

The Veteran that Carrie Underwood has become sets an example for all upcoming talent and makes her a role model for artists fighting their way to the top. But unfortunately for all of them, she’s not done making history yet. Her 15th No. 1 single “Good Girl,” the lighter but still punch packed track, was well received by Underwood fans debuting as the first single from her highly anticipated album. (It achieved the No. 1 slot on both Billboard and Country Aircheck’s country airplay charts as well). When her hard-hitting, emotion-filled, bare-all single “Blown Away” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart, it made Carrie only the second country artist in 47 years to have their first four albums land in the coveted top spot. The song continued to pop up all over the all-genre Billboard 200 chart which made her only the second country artist in history to have three consecutive albums, once again, head of the leader board. (Blown Away, also became country’s best-selling digital album since 2010).

Since 2005, Carrie Underwood has sold more than 15 million albums, making her the best-selling American Idol in the U.S. (not to intimidate future contestants or anything). She co-wrote seven of her 15 No. 1 singles, is a two-time Academy of Country Music (ACM) Entertainer of the Year, three-time CMA and ACM Female Vocalist winner, a five-time Grammy winner, and a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry… If all that wasn’t enough Carrie Underwood also supports 15 charities and foundations, and even created her own, the Checotah Animal, Town, and School Foundation (C.A.T.S) in 2009 to help with general causes, needs, and services in her hometown of Checotah, OK. It is safe to say that Carrie Underwood is a real-life Superwoman and I think we’d all agree she deserves all of the success she has had so far. She is truly someone we look for, pay attention to, and fall in love with over and over again and I know we all can’t wait to see what she does next.
