Bonnie Raitt was just one of many iconic artists who honored Mavis Staples at ‘Mavis Staples: I’ll Take You There – An All-Star Concert Celebration.’
The special will see a CD/DVD release via Blackbird Presents Records on June 2nd, but today you can watch Raitt join Mavis Staples for a performance of Civil Rights anthem, “Turn Me Around.” American Songwriter praised Raitt’s “blistering guitar licks,” while admiring Staples’ “singular brand of dynamic, uplifting soul.”
