Ben Wells and his lead guitarist, Stephen DeLoach, announced their partnership with Ernie Ball on Tuesday evening. Wells and DeLoach join Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney and Eric Clapton on a star-studded roster of artists endorsed by the guitar strings manufacturer.
“It’s crazy to be mentioned next to these guys,” Ben recently told CMP. “Brad Paisley is a badass, and to be mentioned alongside his name is nuts. I think that this can open more doors for us in 2013. We have some really cool things in line for this year that we’ve never done before. I think the Ernie Ball partnership will definitely help us in what we’re doing this year. We look forward to the months ahead, and definitely years ahead with this awesome company.”
Founded 50 years ago by Roland S. Ball (Ernie), the string and accessories company also distributes their own line of Music Man guitars.
“I’m speechless,” remarked Wells’ lead guitarist Stephen DeLoach, “that’s pretty much all I have to say. I’ve been playing with an Ernie Ball Music Man guitar the entire time I’ve been with Ben. I’ve known the history, I’ve played – and looked up to – the name for so long. It’s unbelievable to be mentioned even in the same sentence as Ernie Ball. I look forward to growing with these guys, and truly believe a long lasting relationship is in store.”
Wells and DeLoach will be taking Ernie Ball premium strings and accessories on the road to promote Wells’ self-titled first album, which debuted at No. 26 on the iTunes Country charts.
