Amanda Winter…Not That Girl

Every once and awhile you come across a new artist that makes you stop and say “OMG! Who is this and where did he/she come from?” And that is exactly how I felt when I was introduced to Amanda Winter. From a very young age, she has been captivating audiences, wowing them with her larger than life voice that doesn’t seem to match her small size.

Born and raised in the heartland of central Nebraska, she grew up influenced by country music and enjoyed every minute of it. Her sound and style range from the power vocals of Carrie Underwood and Martina McBride to the heartfelt ballads of Patsy Cline and Bonnie Raitt. Listening to her EP “Not That Girl” (released April 2015), I could hear Martina McBride, JoDee Messina and Terry Clark all rolled into one extraordinary sound.

“Words cannot express how excited I am for y’all to hear the new music!  This is the beginning of an amazing journey, and I’m so excited that y’all are taking this crazy ride with me”, stated Amanda.

Although she excels in the modern country world, her music will always have an added effect of the roots of the great traditional country music that she grew up on. Amanda’s musical influences range a wide variety of the great artists of the 80s and 90s, including her lifetime hero Reba McEntire, whom she hopes to one day meet her and sing a duet with her.

In 2009 Amanda competed and took the top honor at the first annual Cottonwood’s Got Talent contest in Hastings, Nebraska. The following year, Amanda won the Galaxy of Stars Contest at the Nebraska State Fair. Through this contest she was awarded the Mega Star award, shining star award and people’s choice. Since then, she has continued to pursue her passion and dream as a country singer. Her vocals are one of a kind and beautiful. She sings with such a strong and confident tone it shows her drive, desire and determination to be the best of the best.

She is currently preparing for headlining the Clay County Fair in Nebraska July 10th, and has been asked to sing the National Anthem at the Adams County Fair opening ceremonies before Lonestar’s performance on July 15th. She is currently working on booking a big line of local shows, so stay tuned.. this is one girl to watch!
