Tune In Tuesday: Keith Urban Debuts 3rd Single From RipCORD Album

Keith Urban has shared his third single from his forthcoming album RipCORD, “Wasted Time”. The new single is an upbeat tune that has hints of an electronic beat and banjo cords all in one while still maintaining a country sound.

keith-urban-wasted-time“When I think about those summer nights…singing out the window on the backroads/ “Sweet Child of Mine…ain’t it funny how the best days of my life…all that wasted time”, Urban sings in the song’s chorus.

It hits a nerve with all of us who remember our younger, carefree days with fond memories. Urban, Greg Wells and J. Hart worked together to write “Wasted Time,” and Urban and Wells also co-produced the track.

I worked with a lot of new people on RipCORD, and Greg was one I’d wanted to work with for a long time. He’d been writing a lot with J., and so the three of us spent a couple days at Greg’s studio to jam and see if we clicked,” Urban recalls in a press release. “Greg had this cool chord progression, and I grabbed my guitar and started singing a melody. J. suggested the title, and before we knew it, we were talking about growing up and all the things you do, no matter where you are in the world, and the song just took off from there.”

“Wasted Time” has already hit country radio now and is also available for download via iTunes. Urban will be premiering the song on American Idol this Thursday, March 31st.

RipCORD is set for release on Friday, May 6th. Its prior two singles already released, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16″ and “Break on Me,” have already taken the No. 1 spot on country charts.

On June 2nd, Urban will be hitting the road on his RipCORD World Tour 2016 with Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris.
