There’s definitely “Something in the Water”… Carrie Underwood

By: Mandy Slegers

Hopefully by now you have heard the first single from Carrie Underwood’s Greatest Hits: Decade #1 album which was released on September 29th. Already the hit single is sitting pretty at the top of country streaming lists and with more than 124,000 copies sold. “Something in the Water” marks Underwood’s best-selling, first-week single of her career and has set the all-time record for a country single at Mediabase by achieving a massive 144 total stations on impact date. The sales figure also marks the best opening-week sales of any female country artist in 2014.

“Something in the Water” is so compelling, not only does it identify the power of faith to see people through difficult times, it is sung so powerful that only Carrie with her power and pure range could execute the song so beautifully. No matter what you are going through, the lyrics of her new single can relate to everyone in one way or another. When I heard the new single for the first time I was so touched by the interpretation of “Amazing Grace”, it is such a joyous, moving song about changing your life for the better. I am inspired to wake up each morning choosing joy and hope for my life to be different from that moment forward…

Underwood’s Greatest Hits: Decade #1, will release on December 9th. The album brings together some of her greatest hits from the four studio albums she has released over the last 10 years, which all together have given her 18 No 1 hits. The album is also available for pre-order at here.
