That Band Billy Bob Thornton is In is Touring Again

That’s right, friends. William Robert Thornton, of Sling Blade fame, is going back on the road with his rockabilly band, The Boxmasters. Fun fact: he goes by “Bud” while on tour.

The group is touring on their last album, Modbilly, which topped the Americana Radio Chart for two weeks, and on their Christmas comp, Christmas Cheer. They will also premiere new songs from their 2010 album, Bellflower.

So fry yourself up some French-fried potaters (mmm-hmmmm), check out The Boxmasters’ cover of “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)” on iTunes and, if you’re in Texas or California, check out their live show for a rip-roarin’ good rockabilly time.

Lindsay Eanet

When Lindsay Eanet was 10 years old, she heard The Beatles' "I Am The Walrus" for the first time and it totally blew her mind. Ever since then, she's had an almost compulsory love of All Things Rock (And Country), to the point where she's even publicly defended Garth Brooks's "Chris Gaines" phase. She's currently finishing up her journalism degree at the University of Missouri, where she used to run the campus arts and entertainment magazine, MOVE, and got to interview lots of neat people, from Ted Leo to Tab Benoit. In addition to being a staff writer and social networking maven for, Lindsay's work has been featured in In These Times, Soundcheck Magazine, Vox Magazine (Columbia, Mo.) and McSweeney' When not writing until her fingers start to cramp, Lindsay can usually be found enjoying live music, watching football (both American football and real football, which you Yankees call "soccer") or making her notorious seven-layer dip. (Personal/Professional blog) (Twitter) 1. The nicest thing you've ever done? My freshman year of college, on Valentine's Day, I set up a display in the lounge of our dorm with all my floormates' pictures on index cards, each with a few sentences about what I loved about them. 2. Favorite band 10 years ago, favorite band today? The answer to this will forever be the same: The Beatles. 3. How do you roll? Backwards somersault.
