Takin’ The Daughter To Folk Revival Festival This Saturday

The first concert I ever took my 4 year old daughter to was to see Lucero, and so Im feeling a bit nostalgic given the fact that I get to take my 2 year old to her first show, that being, Lucero this weekend at the 5th annual Folk Revival Festival in Long Beach, Ca. In fact, my wife is pregnant so, in theory, all 3 of my daughters will be with me this week swaying to the whiskey-fueled tones of Ben Nichols’s Lucero.

A lil foot stompin, high energy goodness is bound to happen with the fact that joining Lucero will be outlaw country legend Billy Joe Shaver, former Delta Spirit front man Matthew Logan Vasquez, The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, Scott H. Biram, Hogslop String Band, Jaime Wyatt, The Show Ponies, The Hooten Hallers, Ivory Deville, Valley Queen, Janie, Travesura, Leather Tramp, The Hollow Trees, Have More Fun String Band & Katie Jo & The Mijos.

In its 5th year the Long Beach Folk Revival Festival returns on September 16, 2017 from 11am to 10pm to the beautiful seaside location of Rainbow Lagoon Park. With views of the historic Queen Mary, plenty of shade, grass, and fresh ocean breezes, this beautiful park location in Downtown Long Beach, CA sets the perfect stage for showcasing the best in Folk, Roots, Americana, & Bluegrass music acts.

This family-friendly festival is all about bringing the community together to enjoy a slice of “True American Music”. September has truly become that banjo time of year in Long Beach as the festival ushers in the fall season. In addition to the great music, all the fan favorites from last year are back including our signature contests, (Beard & Mustache contest, Deering Banjo contest, The Pie Bar Pie Eating Contest, and new this year the Kids Watermelon Eating contest), amazing gourmet food & craft beers, interactive kid’s area, our “Craft Bazaar” shopping experience & all kinds of other randess.
