Scotty McCreery Announces New Book “Go Big Or Go Home” In 2016

Scotty McCreery is expanding his writing skills from more than just music. He will be releasing a book next year! The biography called “Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream” will be available on May 3, 2016. Christian publisher, Zondervan, will be publishing what will be the American Idol winner’s literary debut project.

McCreery announced the release of his book yesterday via his official Facebook page:

Happy to announce that on May 3, 2016, I will be releasing my first book – Go Big or Go Home: The Journey Toward the Dream from Zondervan. It’s my chance to tell my story from the very beginning when I was a kid singing Elvis songs on the bus, to winning “American Idol” and launching my country music career. I’ll share some unique experiences and lessons I’ve learned along the way. I’ll also write about how my faith, family, and friends have made an impact on my life. I hope you are as excited as I am about this book. Go Big or Go Home will be available for pre-order beginning Nov.15th. We’ll announce details soon on where you can pre-order. Shouts to Stephanie Shaffer, past Garner WhiteDeerPark Dir, for giving me this sign in 2012!”

Go Big Or Go Home “Go Big or Go Home” reveals McCreery’s story, through his own words. The story begins with his childhood in Garner, N.C., and winning American Idol in 2011, to releasing two successful studio albums. The book will mainly focus on his life, career and faith.

God gave me a voice and America gave me a chance,” McCreery says in a press release. “This book is about those two things.”

Musically, McCreery is preparing for the release of his third album, which is also expected to be released in 2016. The break out single “Southern Belle” was released to radio earlier this year. It is currently sitting just outside the Top 50 on the Billboard Airplay charts. McCreery is winding down his official tour calendar with just three dates left. Earlier this year he was out on the road with Rascal Flatts  as part of their Riot Tour, with RaeLynn as openers.

Zondervan, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, publishes Bibles and other Christian communications. Author, Travis Thrasher, worked alongside of McCreery on the book. He has also helped others like Jimmy Wayne and Thompson Square write their novels. In addition he has also written several books for the Robertson family based on the experiences of the Duck Dynasty fame.
