Raise Your “Red Solo Cups” to Toby Keith’s CMA Video of the Year Award

“You can’t stop it, you can only hope to contain it”, Toby quips.

But it doesn’t look like there’s any containing the Red Solo Cup as it continues to garner attention some months after its release.

On November 1, “Red Solo Cup” enjoyed another honor as Toby Keith’s outrageously ridiculous, yet highly contagious video received high honors at the 46th Annual CMA Awards, taking home the trophy for ‘Video of the Year’.

The CMA award was announced early in the day (Nov. 1) during ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’. The CMA Award goes to both Toby Keith (the artist) and Video Director Michael Salomon.

The nomination marks Toby’s first since 2005. And when previously asked if he’d be attending the awards ceremony Toby sympathized to Country Weekly:

“Hell no, I ain’t showing up. I gotta go get a root canal that day, or something fun,”

To date, Red Solo Cup is tabulating over 18 million YouTube views.

And the Deluxe version of Toby’s recently released album (Oct. 30) “Hope on the Rocks”  contains a remix of the CMA Award winning song “Red Solo Cup”.
