Phil Vassar’s Songs From The Cellar Premieres On Circle Network January 9

Chart-topping singer-songwriter Phil Vassar invites television viewers across America inside his wine cellar during his “Songs from the Cellar”. The weekly series, produced by NashPhil Cellars and The Nice Kids, premieres on the Circle Network this Thursday at 9:00 pm EST with guest Charles Esten. (Episodes will repeat the following Sundays at 4:00 and 7:00 pm EST.)

Simple in concept yet rich in content, Phil’s laid-back style and quick-witted personality brings out the best in his guests as they share entertaining stories about their interesting lives. Future guests of season one include Mike Tyson, Tommy Shaw, Jessie James Decker, Cam, Carrot Top, Jeffrey Steele, Steve Cropper and many more…

Season One Details:

January 9 – London to Nashville
Charles Esten is in the cellar with Phil and shares his journey from playing Buddy Holly in London on the West End to his role as “Deacon Claybourne” on the hit series Nashville.

January 16 – Gotta’ Roll with It
Prolific writer Jeffrey Steele stops by the cellar to talk songwriting with Phil. He and Phil jam on Love is a Beautiful Thing. Jessie James Decker also drops in and does Lights Down Low and shares how she conquers being a singer-songwriter, TV star, entrepreneur and mom.

January 23 – Blue Collar Man
Phil and iconic guitarist Tommy Shaw (STYX) hang out in the cellar while he recounts the journey of becoming the front man for STYX and the process of writing one of their greatest hits, Blue Collar Man. Phil and Tommy join on the classic hit, When Will I Be Loved.

January 30 – On the Dock of the Bay
Steve Cropper, one of Rolling Stone Magazines top 100 guitarists of all time, and Phil share a drink and jam on Cropper’s mega hits, (Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay and In the Midnight Hour.

February 6 – Vegas Baby!
Phil heads to Las Vegas where he meets up with comedian Carrot Top and former Heavy Weight Champion of the World, Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson at the piano, the antics are crazy!

February 13– Arena to Acoustic
Phil’s longtime friend John Rich stops in to do I Wish You Were Beer and catches up with Phil on writing together and the importance of fans. Legendary guitarist Peter Frampton performs Do You Feel Like I Do and discusses the transition from playing arena rock shows to smaller acoustic shows.

February 20 – No Rocking Chair Regrets
Country singer-songwriter CAM and Phil chat about co-writing their first song, I Want It All, and creating pieces that are authentic and not over-commercialized. Cam performs her platinum hit, Burning House.

February 27 – Songwriter Rounds
Sister Hazel rocks the cellar with Phil on All for You and talks about taking care of the “Hazelnuts”. Phil and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Mike Reid do a deep dive into the craft of songwriting. Mike plays his unforgettable hit, I Can’t Make You Love Me.

March 5 – Tennessee Whiskey
Phil visits the famous Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Pat Alger discusses hiring Phil for his very first demo and writing the country hit, The Thunder Rolls. Tony Arata talks about and performs his smash, The Dance.

March 12 – The Accidental Thing
Country sensation Hunter Hayes discusses with Phil the songwriting process and the importance of not trying too hard. They perform Amen and Yesterday’s Song.
