Ones To Watch: Meet Country’s New Sibling Trio “Sister C”

Like most sibling groups, Sister C (yes they really are sisters), started signing together as children and have built a following for themselves in their home state of Texas.

We don’t have to look any further than our own home to find all the support we need for whatever we try to do. We know we can count on our family to be there for us and we can turn to our parents for anything – they are our heroes and our biggest fans. We realize how lucky we are to have a loving family to come home to and a bunch of amazing friends to hang out with. Not everyone is that fortunate and we are grateful every day.”

All given first names beginning with the letter “C”…Cirby, Carli and Celbi, they first gained national attention as finalists on the TV show X Factor with their coach Simon Cowell. Earlier this month they were included in Country Weekly’s list of 10 “Ones To Watch” for 2016 and we couldn’t agree more.

Their EP, Demo Sessions, features “Take Me to the Water” and Country Weekly released the exclusive premiere of the trio singing it in their Blue Room Sessions, an acoustic video series they created.

We are so excited to release the acoustic version of ‘Take Me to the Water’ as our next Blue Room Session,” says Cirby. “Since this Nashville weather isn’t letting us get rid of the winter blues, we decided to cheer ourselves up and play something fun. Summer isn’t quite here yet, but ‘Take Me to the Water’ is a perfect reminder that it’s right around the corner.”

The sisters describe each other outside of the Blue Room as “The Beauty Queen”, “The Pistol” and “The Free Spirit”, can you guess who’s who?!?

As it says on the Sister C site, their bold and exciting rebellion against the ‘same song, different artist’ approach to their career has them poised as the trailblazers of a whole new sound.

And their big Texas sound is one that is all their own yet giving a hint of the Dixie Chicks, Pistol Annies and Kacey Musragves all rolled in to one. Their musical influences range from Etta James and Billie Holiday to such legends as Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard.

Although they have also been influenced and inspired by current stars like Norah Jones, Corrine Bailey Rae, Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, Adele and singer-songwriters like Toni Price, Patti Griffin and Kelly Willis, the sister trio grew up in a household where records by Willie, Merle and George (both Jones AND Strait) were played often and sometimes followed by records by Ray Charles, Patsy Cline and Harry Connick, Jr.
