Morgan Wallen Tears It Up On His First Headlining Tour

Country music’s electrifying new talent Morgan Wallen kicked off his first-ever headlining tour, bringing the “Up Down Tour” presented by Shiner Light Blonde to 8 Seconds Saloon in Indianapolis, IN Friday (February 2nd) and selling out The Stache in Grand Rapids, MI Saturday (February 3rd).

The Big Loud Records newcomer brought down the house with his 75-minute set, complete with his his Top 30 debut single “The Way I Talk” and a faithful cover of Eric Church’s “Smoke A Little Smoke.” A standout moment included a solo acoustic version of “You Make It Easy,” Jason Aldean’s brand new single, which Wallen co-wrote with Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, and Jordan Schmidt. The breakthrough performer closed the night with his Top 30 (and climbing) surefire smash single “Up Down,” which Taste of Country admits is “just too dang catchy to ignore,” and has been streamed over 27.6 million times.

The “Up Down Tour” continued Friday (February 9th) in Myrtle Beach, SC, and wraps April 28th in Las Vegas, NV. He’ll then hit the road as support on the second leg Luke Bryan’s “What Makes You Country Tour”, in addition to performance slots at major festivals including Stagecoach and Faster Horses.

Morgan Wallen’s “infectious” (Rare Country) new single “Up Down,” featuring Florida Georgia Line, is catapulting up the Country radio airplay charts and has earned high praise from the likes of Rolling Stone Country, Taste of Country, Morning Hangover, Whiskey Riff and more. Selected as one of CMT’s LISTEN UP “18 for 2018” class of newcomers, the engaging entertainer sharpened his performance skills opening for superstars including FGL and label mate Chris Lane.

He’s currently on the road for his first headlining trek – the “Up Down Tour”. His five-song EP “The Way I Talk” (2016) features Top 30 debut single “The Way I Talk,” that made its mark on Spotify’s popular Wild Country, New Boots and New Music Friday playlists. Born in Sneedville, Tenn. (also home to bluegrass legend Jimmy Martin), Wallen was a star on the baseball diamond, attended the same high school as Country superstar Kenny Chesney, and has deep roots in the church. With a Hard Rock-loving preacher for a father and a mother who couldn’t get enough Country and contemporary Christian music, Wallen began performing for his local congregation at the tender age of 3 and went on to develop a strong love of Country, Rock and Hip-Hop.

After moving to Music City in 2015, he’s co-written with hitmakers like Craig Wiseman, Rodney Clawson, Chris Tompkins, the Warren Brothers, Tommy Cecil and Matt Dragstrem, and has been honing his studio poise with award-winning producer Joey Moi.
