Mike and the Moonpies in Rolling Stone’s “Best Country Albums of 2015”

Mike and the Moonpies’ ‘Mockingbird’ earned a spot on Rolling Stone’s “Best Country Albums of 2015”, an especially impressive feat for the Austin band, with one of the only independent releases on this year’s list.

Mike Harmeier…spent his youth soaking up the classic country, western swing and southern rock pouring out of the jukebox of his grandfather’s favorite honky-tonk. He and his bandmates serve it back up on their third album, toasting influences that range from the Allman Brothers to George Strait,” says Rolling Stone. “Harmeier writes with a storytelling skill and specificity his heroes would appreciate — and the musicians play with the fire of the hard-touring band that they are.”
