Mark Chesnutt Launches New YouTube Video Series “Honky Tonk Monday”

They say good things come in threes and for Mark Chesnutt fans that expression is ringing true. Chesnutt’s first album of new material in eight years (Tradition Lives) will be released July 8th, and the lead single, “Oughta Miss Me By Now,” is gaining major airplay across the country.

In addition to new music, fans craving more content from the classic country superstar can check out the recently launched YouTube video series playlist, “Mark Chesnutt’s Honky Tonk Monday” on the Mark Chesnutt YouTube Channel, YouTube.com/MarkChesnuttTV.

The new videos feature Chesnutt recounting his favorite songs and memories of the format’s biggest stars…

In Episode One he describes the feeling of singing Ronnie Milsap’s “Houston Solution” live, long before Chesnutt had a string of hits of his own, which include “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” “It Sure Is Monday,” “Brother Jukebox,” “Going Through The Big D,” “Bubba Shot The Jukebox,” “Too Cold At Home,” and many more – making up his plethora of multi-platinum selling and top-charting hits… Episode Two is an emotional account of his relationship with the legendary George Jones.

We just had a special friendship. We’d call each other all the time to talk about things. He gave me a lot of advice. And we sat around on the bus and sang. That’s my most treasured memory of George Jones,” says Chesnutt in the clip.

This week’s installment, out today, honors Merle Haggard. Chesnutt discusses an instance when Haggard invited him over to his house for a tour rehearsal with The Strangers, Haggard’s long-time band. Watch Episode Three here.

Also on YouTube, fans will find the lyric video for “Oughta Miss Me By Now.” The track stays true to his honky-tonk roots, showcasing the traditional country sounds that have kept Chesnutt selling out shows and earning Platinum albums throughout the last three decades.
