Little Big Town Announces Inaugural Ryman Residency For 2017

Rich in country music history with endless sacred songs and stories hidden in every wall, there is one thing that has never been done at The Ryman, until now…yesterday at a press conference held at the Ryman we learned of the first residency called Little Big Town at the Mother Church series.

The first concert of the Grammy Award winning group’s 6-night residency is schedule for February 24, 2017.  The first show of the series will be a big day for LBT as their newest album “Breaker” is slated for release the same day.  Additional dates include February 25th, May 19th & 20th and September 15th & 16th.

We’ll be inviting some people who have inspired us though our career to be special guests every night,” Karen Fairchild stated.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 am on ryman.com.

For a while it was a secret who wrote “Better Man”, the first single off Little Big Town’s soon-to-be released seventh studio album Breaker; the single was released October 20th.  All we’d heard was it was a “young girl in Nashville who wrote it by herself”.  “She thought of us because of the harmonies” said Karen Fairchild.  She went on to say it was the first time this girl had ever pitched a song to another artist.

At a press conference held yesterday at the Ryman for the release of the music video for “Better Man”, alongside bandmates Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet, Fairchild explained the reason for keeping the writer hush-hush; “we didn’t want you to have any subtext there other than to hear the song”.

Yesterday via a Facebook Live Q&A from the Ryman we finally learned the new track was written by fellow Grammy Award winner, country-pop crossover sensation Taylor Swift.  “Better Man” is quickly climbing the charts and is currently sitting at #20 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
