Lions And Tegan Marie And Bears! Oh My!

Warner Music Nashville recording artist Tegan Marie delivered a flawless performance of the national anthem at the Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, December 16th. Dressed in her home team’s colors…blue and silver…the 14-year-old sang her heart out to the sold-out Detroit crowd of 65,872.

The budding singer/songwriter then attended her first Lions’ game cheering them on to an important victory, bringing the team one step closer to a playoff spot. The Flint, Michigan native, discovered by girls’ media platform Sweety High, signed to Warner Music Nashville this summer making her the youngest female in 45 years to ink a major Country deal.

With a larger-than-life voice, Tegan Marie was discovered when her father uploaded videos of her cover songs to Gen Z girls’ site, Sweety High.  Also a Radio Disney Country artist, she has since catapulted into the national spotlight with several high-profile media performances and appearances including ABC’s Good Morning America and PBS’ star-studded special Smokey Robinson: The Gershwin Prize and the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards.

Last year, she released the song, “Lucky Me,” to benefit the children affected by the water crisis in her hometown. Continuing the momentum, her breathtaking rendition of Florida Georgia Line’s #1 hit song, “H.O.L.Y.,” racked up over 17 million views on Facebook alone. Tegan has amassed over 75 million video views and receives over five million engagements online each month. She’s also had a string of impressive performances, sharing the stage with artists such as Cam, Hunter Hayes and Kelsea Ballerini.

This past spring Tegan appeared at CMA Music Festival on the Radio Disney Country stage and at California’s popular Country music festival Stagecoach to great acclaim. Critics praised her performance with USA Today hailing, “[Tegan] Marie has the personality and the voice of a future star, and she definitely has the always hard-to-define ‘It.’” This summer she partnered with Pepsi MidAmerica for a six-city tour and is currently writing for her debut album.
