Lee Ann Womack (Most Underated Women in Country Music) Previews New Song

Check out the title track from Grammy-winner Lee Ann Womack’s new album,
The Way I’m Livin’to be released on Sugar Hill Records on September 23.

“Written by Grammy-nominated songwriter Adam Wright, the rootsy acoustic song is a showcase for Womack’s strong, pure voice, and she digs into the tune as if she were making up for lost time. The singer wanted to perform the song as soon as she heard it, she tells Speakeasy. ‘It was so raw, and real, and, well, unrepentant,’ she says.

Womack continues, ‘Real roots music, whether it’s country or bluegrass, the blues, even rock, is about hitting a nerve. You can’t not react. It’s not an easy thing to do, but man, this song hit me the first time I heard it, and it hits me every time I sing it,
hear it or even think about it.’
