Lee Ann Womack Croons Over “Steel Guitar Glory”

Lee Ann Womack has released the latest cut from her forthcoming album ‘The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone’ (Out 10/27), the shimmering and ghostly “Hollywood.” Written by Lee Ann, Adam Wright and Waylon Payne, the track poignantly portrays a relationship riddled with doubt and uncertainty.

“Every time I ask you, you just say ‘we’re good’/Either I’m a fool for asking, or you belong in Hollywood”

Vice Noisey said the track is filled with “ambient, floating steel guitar glory.” Listen here.

Lee Ann will make several appearances at AmericanaFest this week, including her annual Lee Ann and Friends showcase at Music City Roots at the YeeHaw Tent on Thursday, September 14th at 9:10 PM. The event this year will feature special guests John Fulbright, Jamey Johnson, Amanda Shires, Jim Lauderdale, Adam Wright, Waylon Payne, David Ramirez, Andrew Combs and Secret Sisters. Lee Ann will also discuss her new album with journalist and author Peter Cooper and play a special stripped-down set at the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Ford Theater on Saturday, September 16th at 2:00 PM.

Produced by Lee Ann’s husband Frank Liddell (fresh off a 2017 ACM Album of the Year win for Miranda Lambert’s ‘The Weight of These Wings’) and largely recorded at the legendary SugarHill Studios in Houston, TX, the album features songs mostly co-written by Lee Ann. ‘The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone,’ is her most personal album to date, marking the culmination of a journey that began with her 2005 CMA Album of the Year ‘There’s More Where That Came From.’
