Kirsty Lee Akers New Album, Under My Skin, Available NOW!

The brand-new album, “Under My Skin”, self-produced by multi-award-winning artist, Kirsty Lee Akers is out now through indie label, Social Family Records, and available in-store and online.

So much hard work has gone into making this album,” says Akers. “This is the first album of mine that I’ve actually produced myself. I wrote on every song, everything you hear on this album is 100% me so this one is extra special. I can’t wait for the world to hear it!”

Album number five for Akers, who is one of this country’s most unique and authentic recording artists, “Under My Skin saw her in the producer’s seat for the first time, marking her evolution as an artist.  It contains ten masterfully crafted tracks, embodying Akers distinctive sound, powerful lyrics, and musical influences.

Joining forces, each song was co-written with some of the best songwriters in the industry, including Jerry Salley, Phil Barton, Trey Bruce, Bruce Wallace and more, culminating in lashings of pop and fusion of modern country and Americana stylings, yet still seamlessly linking back to Akers roots.  True to her signature honesty and authenticity, the listener is taken on a vivid journey through family tribulations, love, loss and the tragedy of souls taken too soon.

Music is and has been a massive part of Akers life, having performed in public since the age of 3 and recording her first EP at the age of 16, funded by money she’d made busking on the streets of Tamworth, which led her to study at and graduate from the CMAA Academy of Country Music in 2004 and 2005 and the Talent Development Project in 2006.

Akers is the only artist to take out the Telstra Road to Discovery, Toyota Star Maker AND a Golden Guitar in the space of two years (2006-2008).  From there she went on to receive three Golden Guitar finalist spots in 2012 for her 2011 release, “Naked”.  The following years saw a stint in Nashville, CMC #1 videos and CMC Award nominations, an ARIA Country chart-topper with “Burn Baby Burn” (ARIA #1 Australian Country Album), and a 2017 finalist nomination for Best Female Artist in the Golden Guitars, with her single, “Take Me Back”, coming in at #5 on the official country airplay chart in the first quarter of 2018, a perfect lead in to her new single and album, “Under My Skin”.
