Kelsea Ballerini Releases Heartbreaking Ballad “High School” From Upcoming Album ‘Unapologetically’

Award-winning country singer Kelsea Ballerini just gave fans another taste of her upcoming album, with the must-hear track “High School.”  The song is featured on the rising singer’s highly anticipated sophomore project, “Unapologetically”, hitting stores November 3rd. Fans who the collection will instantly receive “High School,” the title track, plus the lead single, “Legends.”

I wrote it after a trip to my hometown sitting on my bedroom floor wondering if I was wrong for leaving so soon and for wanting something different,” Ballerini wrote on Instagram.  “The answer is no, that everyone has a perfect and right path, and mine led me to Nashville at 15, trading in prom queen for a big city dream and a slate that was clean. Y’all meet my baby of the record, High School is available now. #gobobcats

The chart-topper teased “High School” with an Instagram post, giving fans a sample of the chorus, simply stating, “this ain’t high school.” The mature lyrics focus on a person who is living in the past, never growing from the high school persona that used to define them. Ballerini is the sole writer on the track, as the songstress continues her growth as a songwriter. All 12 songs on “Unapologetically” were either written or co-written by the country trendsetter.

The lead single, “Legends” continues its climb up the charts, quickly approaching country radio’s Top 30. The feel-good anthem was co-written by Ballerini, Forest Glen Whitehead, along with Hillary Lindsey, and focuses on behind-the-scenes moments over the past few years.  The song’s reach continues to grow, with the emotional video garnering over 2.8 million views.
