JT Hodges’ New Single “Goodbyes Made You Mine” Available for Download and Your Listening Enjoyment

JT Hodges’ “Goodbyes Made You Mine” is the second single from his soon to be released CD. It’s available at iTunes  now and according to Bill Kennedy, Show Dog-Universal Music’s Vice President of Sales, Marketing & New Media:

“JT’s new single showcases his unique voice and edgy style.”

Hodges debuted that edgy style and unique country vocals in 2011 with the release of his debut single “Hunt You Down”. He was a guest on Toby Keith’s Locked & Loaded Tour where he had audience attention as he showcased a refreshing return to country sound. There’s no sugar in his vocals or his chords. It’s straight up country, complete with twang, grit and authenticity.

In a “Music Row” review of “Goodbyes Made You Mine”, respected music critic Robert K. Oermann commented :

“This has a certain ‘presence.’ JT’s not only a solid writer, but his vocal performance is up-close and personal, packed with personality and exuding confidence. The deep-twang guitar and driving production are also pluses. A star is born.”

Bill Kennedy concurred, “The song is a natural next step after last year’s debut ‘Hunt You Down.’”

“Goodbyes Made You Mine” celebrates the guy who hung in their long enough to sing that he “ain’t the same ol’ let you go run you around // String you along, do you wrong, like they done you ’til now // Girl after all you’ve been through I knew it’d be a matter of time // ‘Til all those goodbyes made you mine” in the chorus. The song’s not an I told you so kind of boasting. It has a unique tempo with a sultry and understanding I’m just glad you’re back twist to it.

“I look forward to getting my songs and story to the people’s ears because I’m very proud of the record I’ve made,” says Hodges. “It’s true to me, and I think any artist would say he or she has no regrets and can hold their head high if that’s the case. I know I’m hitting the road now with mine up.”

JT will be hitting the road as he’s due to perform on Music Row’s 2012 CRS Country Breakout Awards Showcase Feb. 21 to kick off radio seminar week in Nashville. Hopefully we’ll see more of JT on the concert circuit in 2012 and can enjoy more performances such as JT’s special acoustic cover of Garth Brooks’ “The Dance” he recorded for his fans for Valentine’s Day.
