JT Hodges launches ACM New Artist Campaign answering “Who is JT Hodges” – Check this Out and VOTE daily until January 30, 2012

On January 14, 2012 the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and Great American Country (GAC) announced EIGHT Semi-finalists for the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards “New Artist of the Year” category. And Show Dog-Universal Music’s JT Hodges was one of them. JT wasted no time responding :

“This is a true honor not only for me but my fans,” said Hodges. “Thank you to the Academy of Country Music for the nod.  Although I’m the obvious underdog, I feel like I’ve won just by being recognized.”

The “New Artist” category is open to fan voting that began on Monday, January 16, 2012 and ends on Monday, January 30th at Noon ET. And JT needs your help. He’s asking for your VOTE to move him into the final three nominees. You can log on to vote at VoteACM.com and watch Hodges message.

But Just Who is JT Hodges ? . . .
Hodges burst onto the country music scene in 2011 with the release of his debut single, “Hunt You Down” and a slot on Toby Keith’s Locked & Loaded Tour. And although JT is up for “New Artist”, this Texas newcomer is by no means new to country music.

“Country is the first thing I ever remember hearing,” JT confesses. “My grandmother loved Conway Twitty and we used to listen to him all the time.” Not only that, JT was literally raised in a recording studio. “My family started Fort Worth’s first multi-track recording studio,” Hodges explains, referring to Buffalo Sound Studios, a facility that played host to artists such as T Bone Burnett and Michael Bolton. Hanging around (the studio) “was part of our chores!” Hodges shares. “On weekends when there were sessions, Pops would make us vacuum and clean the bathrooms. Once we were done, my brother and I would be so excited to go into my dad’s audio library and listen to record after record, on vinyl or quarter-inch tapes. That was the environment that I grew up in, crawling around under the console starting at eight months old.”

Now, even though Hodges isn’t new to country music, he realized he might be new to some of the fans. So he set out on an ACM New Artist Campaign to help answer the question, “Who is JT Hodges”.

“Working with Marcel on these (campaign) videos has been a blast and I am so grateful to the country music fans for letting me give them a little peak into who I am,” Hodges said. “Our point was to just have some fun with these videos, and get everyone to smile a little bit.”

  1. Dec18 Almost all of what you claim happens to be asiostnhingly precise and it makes me ponder why I had not looked at this with this light previously. This piece truly did turn the light on for me personally as far as this particular subject goes. Nevertheless at this time there is one issue I am not too comfortable with and whilst I make an effort to reconcile that with the main idea of your position, allow me observe just what the rest of your subscribers have to say.Very well done.
