Joel Crouse Releases Debut Single “If You Want Some” February 5, 2013 – Song Review

Show Dog-Universal Music and Joel Crouse are set to release Joel’s debut single “If You Want Some” to country radio and iTunes on Tuesday, February 5. Joel co-wrote the single with his producer Jamie Houston and 2012 BMI Songwriter of the Year, Luke Laird.

JC_ifyouwantsome_cover(1)“If You Want Some” is the first release off the artist’s up and coming album due out later in 2013 and both Joel and the single have been circulating the country music industry for a short time now making a bit of an impact.

Joel comments that:

“If he could trade places with anyone for a day, it would be Mark Wahlberg”.

But make no mistake about it, Crouse is no ‘new kid on the block’.

Growing up the son of a preacher man in the small town of Holland, Massachusetts, Joel’s love of country music began with his grandfather who introduced the lad to the music of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Merle Haggard. Crouse also grew to love classic rock music from the 70s, particularly story songs like those performed by Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac, to name a few.

His first public singing experience was in a church. He wrote his first song at the age of 14, started a band when he was 15, graduated from high school at the age of 16 and was signed to his record deal not long after his 19th birthday. Joel has opened shows for Toby Keith, Darius Rucker, Rodney Atkins, Sara Evans, and the Goo Goo Dolls.

This blending of artistic influences has created a singer/songwriter with a unique sound, a catchy twang and so far, co-writing credits on all of the tracks off his upcoming album. Crouse’s debut single, “If You Want Some”, is airy, fun and a delightful listen. The steel guitar intro immediately grabs your musical attention. And once lyric and vocals join in, Joel has whet your appetite. You’re toe-tapping, be-bopping and just enjoying the uplifting, invitation to join in on life’s fun.

At this early professional stage it’s hard to “define” or “categorize” Crouse – which is a good thing. But he’s passionate about his art, has a great sound, is already building a steady fan base and shares that :

“In 50 years when people look back on his life he hopes they think both he and his music had integrity”.

Be sure to tune in to country radio on February 5, 2013 for the release of Joel Crouse’s debut single “If You Want Some”. Download to digital devices will also make its availability debut at iTunes the same day.

But let’s jump start the party here. Take a listen and share in comments what you think of Joel Crouse and his debut single “If You Want Some” – and we’ll be sure to share your comments with Joel’s camp.
