With Mother’s Day just a few days away, multi-Platinum selling country star and author, Jo Dee Messina will be hosting a special Mother’s Day Show at Nashville’s City Winery this Sunday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
The show, entitled “I Am-The Intimate Story,” gives fans the opportunity to hear Jo Dee perform new songs along with other specially selected music as a heartfelt Mother’s Day celebration to all the women who are Mother’s in some way in their lives. She has had nine #1 songs including “I’m Alright,” “Bring On The Rain” (a duet with Tim McGraw), “That’s The Way,” “Bye Bye,” and “My Give A Damn’s Busted,” as well as thirteen Top 20 singles.
Jo Dee will give the audience a behind the scenes look of her journey throughout the last few years along with heartfelt stories and never before seen performances of some of her music during this one-of-a-kind show. “This show really is very special to me because my mom and my family will be there in person to see me perform and my mom – who is my rock – hasn’t seen me perform a show in quite some time,” said Jo Dee. “I wanted to do something completely different for this experience so I am writing some new material that really encapsulates my journey over the last few years. It is going to be a truly special night and I cannot wait.”
The show is also in honor of her new book that she co-authored with Amy Newmark, “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Thanks to My Mom.” In the book Jo Dee tells a story of her biggest and most supportive fan – her mom, and how through her love and support she learned to be a mother herself to her two, beautiful young boys.
“Chicken Soup for the Soul: Thanks to My Mom” is a collection of 101 stories of love, learning, and gratitude that say a big “thank you” to mothers of all ages.
